This easy DIY Easter Bunny Wreath is so adorable! It only took me about 5 minutes to put together and I had everything on hand already. It really brings the Easter spirit into the house as soon as you walk in the door. I love the simple minimalistic bunny look. Plus the gold and white goes really well with my home décor already, but you can use any colors! The pom pom tail is so cute, and I had so much fun making it, I decided to create 2 more Pom Pom Wreaths.

Easy DIY Easter Bunny Wreath

Materials

  • White foam sheet (or white cardboard)
  • Ribbon – I chose gold!
  • 1 Large Wreath Circle– (I can usually find wreath hoops at the Dollar Store or Michaels)
  • 1 Small Wreath Circle
  • White yarn (about half a ball depending on the size of tail you want)
  • Scrap Card board (about 10 inches by 5 inches)
  • Scissors
  • Hot Glue Gun

How to:

1. Make the Pom Pom Tail
  • Take your scrap cardboard and cut two circles the diameter of the pom pom. It helps if you have a cup or jar to trace around. I made mine about 4 inches in diameter.
  • Next, punch a hole in the middle of each circle and cut from the edge to the hole. Then cut out the middle of each circle (like a donut) and cut out a chunk of the perimeter. The final shape should look like a thick letter C (but you only need a small gap).
  • Layer your two ‘C’s and begin winding your yarn around the carboard. Continue winding the yarn until you have a thick layer all around. The more yarn you wind around, the denser and fluffier your pom pom will be!
  • When you are satisfied with the thickness, cut the yarn. Slide your scissors between the two cardboard layers and begin cutting every loop. Use your finger to prevent the yarn from moving once it’s been cut.
  • Take a long piece of yarn and wrap it between the two layers of cardboard, surrounding all the small pieces of yarn. Tie off the long piece tightly!
  • Slide off the two layers of cardboard. Fluff your pom pom and trim any long ends.
2. Tie the Pom Pom to the large wreath circle.
3. Cut two long oval ear shapes out of the white foam (or cardboard). Hot glue gun them to the small wreath circle.
4. Tie the ribbon around the two wreath hoops to connect them and tie a bow.

Voila, That’s it! Hang your wreath and enjoy the Easter spirit!
